William Byron Parker, 81

Graveside funeral services for William “Byron” Parker, 81, of Drury, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, in the Eaton Cemetery at Drury with pastor Dennis Shumate officiating. The eulogy will be given by Joe Heitz. A visitation service will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava.
Byron died Dec. 24, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Sept. 25, 1940, in Houston, Texas, the son of William Garrett and Carrie Mae (Schafer) Parker.
Byron and Julia Walker were married Sept. 25, 1987, in Magnolia, Texas.
Byron was a Christian and attended the Gentryville Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and barbecuing. He also really enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Neal Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Julia; four children, Van Parker and wife Mickie, Phyllis Parker, Alan Parker and wife Karina and Michelle Tripp and husband William, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
