Thomas Henry Young Sr., 85

Graveside services for Thomas Henry Young Sr., 85, of Pottersville, were held Aug. 2, 2021, at Ledbetter Cemetery. Mr. Young died July 24 at Brooke Haven Health Care in West Plains.  

He was born April 22, 1936, in Elijah, the son of Charlie Randolph and Ila Dorothy Craig Young. On Sept. 8, 1956, in West Plains, he married Joyce Arnold. 

Mr. Young lived all of his life in and around Pottersville and attended Oak Mound School. In his younger years, he worked as a logger before going to work at Southwest Truck Body, retiring after 31 years there.    

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Young; one son, Henry Young Jr. and friend Anita Walker of West Plains; two grandchildren, James Young and Mindy Howell and husband Joe, all of Pottersville; seven great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Hal Dean Young.
