Robert “Bob” Lee Campbell, 77

A celebration of life service for Robert (Bob) Lee Campbell, 77, will be held Memorial Day weekend, at Baptist Hill Cemetery in Elijah. More specific details will be shared closer to the time of the service.
Bob died March 21, 2023, on the first day of spring, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's disease and COPD. He was born in 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Lawrence and Eve Campbell. He married the love of his life, Lynda Kay (House) Campbell on May 16, 1981.
Robert served in the Navy and fought for his country in the Vietnam War. He progressed his career in finance until he and his wife settled back in Ozark County in 1984 where they opened the Riverfront Restaurant in Tecumseh, better known as the “home of the fried pie,” followed by the expansion of the Riverfront Restaurant to Gainesville in 1985. In 2003, Bob moved to Joplin where he retired close to his children.
He was an avid fisherman and loved hunting in the Ozarks. He could often be found often talking about the lakes and rivers - what’s biting and what’s not and what baits to use. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Joplin. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda, of the family home; children Suzi Kidd and husband Roger and Bruce Adib-Yazdi and wife Joyce Eiken; grandsons Kyle Adib-yazdi and wife Lauren and Ryan Kidd and great-grandson Aiden Roberts.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baptist Hill Cemetery, PO Box 69, Bakersfield, Missouri 65609.
