Mark Ault, 62

A memorial service for Mark Ault, 62, of Isabella, will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Gainesville Church of Christ. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:30 a.m..

He died June 13. Born on Oct. 29, 1961, in Springfield, he was the cherished son of John and Susan (Amyx) Ault. Mark graduated from Gainesville High School in 1979 and spent most of his life in Ozark County. A man of many talents, he was a carpenter, collector, truck driver and entrepreneur. Among his most successful ventures were Antler Pizza and Motel in Gainesville, where he and his family crafted a renowned pizza recipe from scratch, acclaimed as the best around.

Mark was known for his boundless kindness, often offering rides, rooms or any assistance needed to strangers and friends alike. His kind heart, beautiful smile, quick wit and striking blue eyes left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Even in death, his generosity endures—his organ donations have given three people a second chance at life.

Mark is survived by his sons, Cody Swearengin and Andrew Ault; his sister, Jana Ault Phillips and her husband Steve; his nephew, Lucas Phillips and his wife Chelsey; his niece, Sydney Phillips Davis and her husband John; his uncle, Ray Amyx and his wife Genny; his great-nephews, Boston and Colt; and many beloved cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Ozark County Historium (ozarkcountyhistory.org) or to the Gainesville Chapter of Care to Learn (CaretoLearn.org/Gainesville).
