Linda Joyce Hambelton, 74

 

A memorial service for Linda Joyce Hambelton, 74, of Gainesville, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel at Gainesville with Bruce DeWeese officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.

She died Dec. 2 at the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mtn Home, Arkansas. She was born March 31, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri to W.E. “Dub” and Betty (Holman) Parker.

Linda grew up in Kansas City and, as a child, enjoyed going to her Uncle Jim’s farm in Oklahoma where many fond memories were made. She and her family moved to Ozark County in the early 1970s, and she began working at Baxter Lab in Mountain Home in 1974. She retired in 2005. 

Linda enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren that she loved so much. She loved drinking a good Dr. Pepper and being with her best little buddy, her dog “Matty.” Linda also loved driving the dirt roads around Ozark County and going on trips with her sister-in-law Elma Jean and good friend Wanda.

Linda is survived by two daughters Dorice Isaacs and husband Mike of Ava, Nancy Simpson and husband Bobby of Price Place, Arkansas; seven grandchildren: Dustin Isaacs, Laynie Isaacs, Shanea Adams, Dee Brotherton, Jasmine Herd, Marshall Simpson and Mallory Simpson; seven great-grandchildren: Cutter and Clyde Isaacs, Harper, Fred and Abel Herd, Sophia Brotherton and Case Adams; one sister Rosalie Eberhardt of Lee Summit; and many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dub Parker and Betty Young; two sisters Bonnie and Cathy; one daughter Joyce; and one grandchild Hope.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
