Jeanette Johnson, 74

Graveside services for Susan Jeanette Johnson, 74, of Ava, were held Nov. 27, 2021, at Thornfield Cemetery with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Mrs. Johnson died Nov. 23 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield with her family by her side.

She was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Gainesville, the daughter of Arnold Edward and Geraldine  McDaniel Lawson. She grew up in the Thornfield and Gainesville communities and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1964.

On April 22, 1964, in Smallett, she and Raymond Johnson were married by the Rev. Tom Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson was retired from working at Hagales and Emerson Electric in Ava. She also worked on the farm with her husband. She was a Christian and of the General Baptist faith. Her joy was being at home with all her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandkids.

She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Randy Johnson and wife Becky, Rod Johnson and wife Dee, and Reggie Johnson and wife Vanessa; grandchildren Jennifer Edwards and husband John, Hannah Fisher and husband Jody, and Brandon Johnson; great-grandchildren Hailey, Emitt and Lane; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her brothers, Bob Lawson and Dennis Lawson; and sister and brother-in-law, Audean Watson and husband Darell.
