Gladys Thomas, 92

Gladys Thomas, 92, of Glendale, Arizona, died Nov. 19, 2021. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She was born Jan. 18, 1929, near Toledo, in Ozark County, the last of the 12 children born to Charles and Leora Graham Turner.
She married Harold Thomas, formerly of Ohio.
She worked for more than 20 years in the Moline, Illinois, area before opening her own business, Lakeview Restaurant, in Theodosia. After a long day it was not unusual to see her heading out in her boat to go bass fishing on Bull Shoals Lake.
When she retired, she moved to Glendale to be closer to her family. There she started a new hobby of playing internet checkers, a game she had learned to play as a child joining her father with others for weekly checkers games in the basement of the courthouse in Ava.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Johnson and wife Carolyn of Glendale, and Reg Bacorn and wife Jo Ellen of East Moline, Illinois; four grandchildren, Nikki Bacorn, Joel Bacorn, Mark Johnson and Mandy Decell; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, who died in 1990 and is buried in the Lutie Cemetery in Theodosia.
