Carl Strong, 95

Funeral services for Carl Strong, 95, of Republic, were held Dec. 3, 2021, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville. Mr. Strong died Dec. 1 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
He was born July 13, 1926, in rural Ozark County, the oldest of 10 children born to Lisses Matthew and Dora Ethel Pitcock Strong. He grew up in Ozark County before settling in the Kansas City area, where he lived nearly 50 years before moving to Republic in 1999. He spent most of his life as a truck driver. Anyone who wanted to visit with him had better be ready to talk trucking.
He was a member of the Brookline Church of Christ. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by three sisters, Louella Dutton and husband Jim, and Marcella Crawford, all of Mountain Home, and Mary Lutz of Holden; two sisters-in-law, Lyndell Strong and Velma Strong, both of Gainesville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Utah, Mearl, Jimmy, Ralph and Dick Strong; and one infant sister.
Burial will be in the Sallee Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sallee Cemetery. Arrangements by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
