Brenda Raiford Luna, 79

A graveside service for Brenda Raiford Luna, 79, was held July 18, 2022, at Southampton Memorial Park in Franklin, Virginia, with Dr. Robert Carpenter officiating. Mrs. Luna died July 16, 2022, in Courtland, Virginia.

She was born Aug. 1, 1942, in Southampton County, Virginia, the daughter of John Shelton Raiford and Sadie Bass Raiford. She was a graduate of Franklin (Virginia) High School and a member of Courtland Baptist Church in Courtland.

In the 1970s, she lived for a while in Ozark County.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Luna–Ketter and husband Jay of Topeka, Kansas, a son, Noel E. Luna and wife Pamela of Gainesville, a sister, Audrey Gagner of Courtland, a brother, John W. “Billy” Raiford and wife Joan of Franklin; six grandchildren, Zaccariah and Joshua, Travis and Jenifer, Jacelyn and Ian; 12 great-grandchildren, Archer, Ainsley, Audie, Kristin, Desiray, Angel, Adilynn, Wyatt, Braston, Kylor, Kaylee and Leland.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by one son, Troy T. Luna, and his wife, Debbie.
