Brenda Garrison, 61

 A funeral service for Brenda Gail Garrison, 61, of Thornfield, was held Dec. 6, 2021, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava. Mrs. Garrison died Dec. 2, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was born Feb. 15, 1960, in Gainesville, the daughter of Floyd William and Marjorie June Donley Graham.  

The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking up a new holiday food creation that she could share with her grandchildren. No one enjoyed a good shopping bargain more than she did. She could often be found at a garage sale before work or at a good Black Friday sale.

She faithfully gave her days to her job, and it was made sweeter by the special friends who became family to her. Second only to spending time reading her threadbare Bible, she cherished time with her grandchildren whether watching their sporting events, baking, traveling, going to the beach, gardening or just reading books to them.

She will be dearly missed, but her faithful witness will live on through her children and grandchildren because of the legacy she left.  

She is survived by her family and friends, and she was  preceded in death by her grandparents, her father and her grandson. 

Burial will be in the Thornfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands, a community-based foster-child-assistance program Mrs. Garrison enjoyed helping. Online condolences may be expressed at clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
