Thanks for the help
Ozark County Health Department nurse Bonnie Peter, RN-BSN, recently accepted another donation of items from Mary Shields of Gainesville. “We extend heartfelt thanks to Mary for her continuous donations to the women, infants and children we serve here in the county. For years, Mary has made generous donations of new clothing, including warm coats,” said Peter. “She also makes up special gift bags of personal care items and little treats for the moms and moms to be. Mary believes everyone deserves something special and understands how young families struggle to make ends meet at times and that there may not be enough money for those extra little things.”
A donation of socks, knitted hats and scarves, gloves, sleepers, diapers, wipes and more was recently delivered to the health department by members of the First Christian Church. “The items are given to children at this time of year when expenses are so great,” Peter said. “Everyone who receives these donations are very grateful. Thanks to the First Christian Church and their outreach volunteers for these wonderful gifts. They make a donation like this every year, and every year, it gets larger.”
