Our week at GHCC: lots of activities and a visit from the Easter bunny

Hello from our Gainesville Healthcare Center home to yours.

We have had another good week. However, we are still looking for that nice weather. The residents are asking for warmer weather on a regular basis. It’s nice one day and the next it’s been cold and windy. But it’s springtime in the Ozarks. We all know it is coming. We’re ooking forward to getting outside more. 

Monday was National Pet Day, and we were scheduled for puppies to come visit the center. Again, the weather was awful that day, and we reset the date for the following Monday. Instead, we played some dominoes and another board game that afternoon. 

Tuesday was filled with fingernail polishing for the ladies, and we made bunnies out of wash cloths that afternoon. They turned out great and was a lot of fun. 

Wednesday was Bible study with Bruce DeWeese, and he did a wonderful job. It’s always a blessing. We are looking forward to getting back to having a Sunday service. We feel it is something we can now bring back if you and your church would like to get involved, please call us at 417-679-4921. 

Thursday was Resident Council meeting. Ryan, our dietary manager, spoke about food service and what the residents might want. Then Anna, our social service director, spoke about the resident rights and any concerns they had. Then I, Tammie, the activities director, spoke about adding a new game of bunco for seniors and things we will be doing outside as weather permits. 

Friday was busy as we celebrated both our monthly birthdays and Easter together and enjoyed a cake made by our kitchen staff. We had some resident family members here also. The Easter Bunny came, and we were able to get some really awesome pictures with the residents. You can find some of those pictures on our FB page.
