Nuisance violation case continues

Gainesville City Attorney James Mucklestone gave the city council an update on an ongoing legal case the city has filed in regards to a house and property at Sixth and Main Streets, which council members have said in previous meetings is in very poor condition and in violation of the city’s nuisance ordinance. The case has been filed on behalf of the city against the homeowner, Melanie Huff. A court summons was issued for Huff to appear Nov. 18; however, officers were not able to serve her. Therefore the case has been rescheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 16, before Associate Judge Raymond Gross.
