Lions Club auction, sportsman’s raffle and chili supper to be held Friday in GHS gym
The annual Gainesville Lions Club Auction will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 7, at the Gainesville High School.
A dinner featuring chili and cinnamon rolls will be served at 6 p.m. The cost is $1, which also enters the attendee into several drawings throughout the evening.
This year’s sportsman’s raffle, held in conjunction with the auction, includes a trailer, 11 firearms, two gun safes, a kayak, a flying drone, deer stand, hunting blind, ammunition and other items. Only about 80 raffle tickets are still available of the 300 that will be sold.
Multiple winners’ names will be drawn throughout the live-auction event, with each winner getting to select from the remaining items. Those who are not present can still claim a prize, but they receive a designated item from those available instead of getting to choose their own from the items remaining. Raffle tickets are $50 each and may be purchased at any Century Bank of the Ozarks location or from Gainesville Lions Club members.
The live auction includes a Kansas City Chiefs football helmet signed by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a weed eater, rocking chair, ladder, lawn cart and many other items and services donated by area businesses and individuals.
Proceeds from the auction and raffle will benefit the summer ball program operated by Gainesville Schools, as well as Lions Club scholarships and projects.
