Hamby injured in Howell County crash
Well-known stagecoach driver Rick Hamby, 65, of Caulfield, was seriously injured in a Sunday morning crash on Highway 160 three miles west of West Plains.
According to the MSHP online crash report, the accident occurred at 10:08 a.m. when a 2001 Dodge 3500 truck driven by 42-year-old Justin Turner of West Plains going westbound on Highway 160 and crossed the centerline striking Hamby’s eastbound 2005 Dodge 2500 truck.
Hamby and Turner were both seriously injured. Hamby was transported by South Howell County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Turner was transported by Survival Flight to Mercy Hospital. Both vehicles were totaled.
The crash was investigated by MSHP Tpr. L. C. Pruiett. Cpl. J. D. Wheeler and Tpr. A. K. Falterman assisted in the investigation
