The Times reached out to each candidate and asked for a photo and a 150-word profile to run in the newspaper prior to the election. For more information on polling locations or other local voting information, contact Ozark County Clerk Brian Wise at 417-679-3516.

Kyle Clayton: My name is Kyle Clayton, and I am proud to say I am an Ozark County native. My wife and I are cattle farmers in downtown Elijah and have three beautiful daughters in Bakersfield School. I have happily served on the school board for two years now and couldn’t say enough good things about the school system!

Brad Maynard: I’m a Christian father of two beautiful daughters, married to my wonderful wife of 20 years. We live on the same family farm where I grew up. It’s on the state line, just a few miles from Bakersfield. When we decided to live on the farm, I built on the Missouri side so that our kids would be able to go to Bakersfield. I graduated from Viola High School. I was the first in my family to go to college, before starting my career at Baxter, where I have been for almost 24 years. I am honored to have been picked by the school board in last year’s run-off. I will continue to treat this position with the utmost importance. Our kids deserve every opportunity to excel during and after school. My promise to the community is to 100 percent always have their kids’ and grandkids’ best interest when voting on tough issues.

Darren Johnston: My name is Darren Johnston. I am a lifelong Bakersfield resident. My wife and I both received our entire K-12 education at Bakersfield Schools, and our twins will be seniors there next year. This school is very important to our community. It is educating the future of our city, county, state and country, and I want to be a part of that. I want to give back to the school that has given so much to my family and I. I want to represent our community on the school board and help our school continue it’s success and growth.
