Hunter Bentley and Makenzie Lester crowned at 2019 Bakersfield Homecoming

The Lions hosted Couch, and both the boys and girls teams won their contests. The boys varsity won 57-48, and the girls won 59-37. The Bakersfield teams now head to the Class 1 District 3 tournaments. The Bakersfield boys play Newburg at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, and the Lady Lions also take on Newburg at 2:45 p.m. that same day. Seeding for the girls tournament is Eminence, Koshkonong, Dora, Newburg, Bakersfield, Couch and Bunker. Seeding for the boys tournament is Dora, Eminence, Newburg, Winona, Koshkonong, Bakersfield, Bunker and Couch.

The Indians hosted Koshkonong, and the boys varsity team gave Lutie basketball fans a thrilling 57-55 victory. The Lutie Indians are hosting Norwood Thursday, Nov. 14, for senior night in the last game of their regular season before heading to Class 1 District 4 playoffs. The Indians will play Chadwick (14-10) at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Marshfield. Seeding  for the tournament is Halfway, Chadwick, Bradleyville, Fair Play, Walnut Grove, Hurley, Lutie and Niangua.
