BIG BOB’S FISHING REPORT
We are entering the last full week of our close-out sale. Thanks to all who have made the sale a success. We still have a fair amount of product left, especially soft plastics.
Night fishing remains good with bags of 15 or more pounds needed to win most night tournaments. Salt craws, plastic worms and jigs have been the primary baits. Main lake points and bluffs where there is deep water nearby seem to be holding fish. Day fishermen have been having luck with deep-diving crankbaits in 25 feet or more of water. The key is to find the shad as the bass will be close by. This type of fishing requires patience to work your graph to locate both shad and game fish.
Walleye remain deep and are being caught on deep baits trolled and on night crawlers pulled behind bottom bouncers. Look for walleye along creek channels and along areas that have standing timber. As with bass fishing, if you find deep schools of shad, walleye will be there also. Dragging a night crawler will also produce some big bluegill. Catfish will also take the night crawler.
To all my customers who have become friends, I want to say thank you for making Big Bob’s a success for the past 10-plus years. As I look forward to retirement, I will miss the day-to-day contact with all of you. This is my last fishing report, but I hope to see many of you on the water.
