Sheriff's report: Sept. 17 - 24, 2018

Sept. 17

1:36 a.m. – OCSD officer assisted Missouri State Highway Patrol at Highways 160 and 5. Assistance rendered.

5:36 a.m. – Stranded motorist on Highway 160 near bridge. OCSD rendered assistance. Vehicle was left on road until later.

5:47 and 5:51 a.m. – Medical: 19-year-old female. Unknown medical situation, subject is possibly on drugs or medication, in Miller’s Store parking lot. OCSD rendered assistance. Subject arrested. 

7:56 a.m. – Caller said car has broken down and is blocking westbound lane at Highways 160 and P. Theodosia Area VFD responded; no vehicle found.

8:27 a.m. – Property damage/ vandalism. Caller reported broken windshield on 2014 Jeep Cherokee on County Road 190. Report taken.

9:34 a.m. – Caller reported theft of a silver tall propane bottle on County Road 539. Regulator and cap were left. Wanted it on record. OCSD rendered assistance.

9:40 a.m. – Baxter County 911 reported a careless and imprudent driver in an older red station wagon on Highway 5 south crossing state line into Missouri. OCSD rendered assistance.

3:04 p.m. – Medical: female subject needs to be transported to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains from OCSD office. Ozark County Ambulance responded. Patient transported.

4:55 p.m. – Caller said she got a call reporting a grass fire on D Highway north. Controlled burn. 

5:09 p.m. – Reporting party says that, after seeing a listing for the sale of Spring Creek Resort, he and friends drove down to look at it. When they pulled into the driveway, a man came out of a trailer house above the property and shot a pistol above the subjects’ heads. He then stated the property was not for sale and the reporting party promptly left. Wanted it on record.

7:59 p.m. – Reporting party says her son has locked her out of her house and has thrown things at her and is cussing her. OCSD responded; parties were separated for 12 hours.

8:42 p.m. – Stranded motorist reported on Highway 181 1/4 mile from Highway 160. OCSD responded; gone on arrival.

 

Sept. 18

9:35 a.m. – Caller reported fraudulent use of credit card. Report taken.

1:41 p.m. – Caller report the theft of the Alcorn Cemetery sign at County Roads 170 and 171. Wanted it on record.

1:50 p.m. – Caller reported the loss in Gainesville of a little magnetic wallet containing credit card, license and other items. Wanted it on record.

2:21 p.m. – Caller reported a tree across the eastbound lane of W Highway. Pontiac Price Place VFD and Missouri Department of Transportation responded.

2:26 p.m. – Reporting party found his stolen wood splitter at a salvage yard in West Plains. OCSD advised him to contact Howell County authorities.

3:47 p.m. – Caller on County Road 351 reported stolen wood splitter. He believes it is being held at the scrap yard in Southfork. He called Howell County, and they directed him to fire a report with OCSD first.

6:56 p.m. – Miscellaneous incident. Report taken.

7:05 p.m. – Vehicle stop at Highways 160 and 181. Assistance rendered. Subjects were lost.

8:19 p.m. – Medical: 64-year-old female is having possible stroke. Has been lethargic for three days and has a headache. OCA responded. Patient was transported to OMC.

8:59 p.m. – Stranded motorist reported; car with blinkers on reported on Highway 160 just east of Highway 181. OCSD responded. Motorist had a flat.

 

Sept. 19

2:28 a.m. – Security alarm activated on First Street. OCSD contacted key holder. False alarm. No deputy needed.

6:52 a.m. – Driver in 2014 Chevy Impala hit a deer on Highway 160 west of Locust Road. Vehicle sustained front-end damage. Driver wanted it on record for insurance and is not taking meat.

9:23 a.m. – Mailbox damage reported on Whispering Pines Loop. Handled by OCSD.

10:03 a.m. – Caller reported three lost horses: one large black Percheron, one palomino and one Arabian. Wanted it on record. Later horses were found and were back home.

12:01 p.m. – Medical: 87-year-old female cardiac patient. OCA responded. Patient transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

5:38 and 5:39 p.m. – Vehicle accident: two vehicles, at J Highway and County Road 511. OCA responded. Unable to locate.

6:02 p.m. – Well-being / security check: Reporting party would like an officer to check on someone. Handled by officer.

9:55 p.m. – Property damage / vandalism reported: window has been broken out of caller’s van on County Road 815.

10:41 p.m. – Fuel tanker is leaking fuel at Bullseye by Subway. Gainesville VFD responded.

 

Sept. 20

1:00 a.m. – Diesel fuel on roadway at Highways 160 and 5 north. Referred to MoDOT.

2:09 a.m. – Caller said a truck with its headlights on is sitting on County Road 304B next to a car that may be broken down. OCSD responded. Checked OK.

2:28 a.m. – Medical: 83-year-old female has neck pain and is incoherent. OCA responded. Patient transported to BRMC.

8:53 a.m. – Caller on County Road 142 said a brown-and-black rottweiler is attacking her dogs and other animals. Spoke with officer.

9:54 a.m. – Burglary reported: 10-inch circular saw and several other tools were taken on County Road 643B. Report taken.

11:49 a.m. – Vehicle accident one mile south of Arkansas line close to Three Brothers: 55-year-old-male said he hit a deer in a Mercury Milan; he has hit his head and wants an ambulance. Referred to Baxter County, Arkansas.

2:18 p.m. – Caller said an eastbound log truck on Highway 160 is hauling a log that’s about to come off. OCSD rendered assistance.

4:07 p.m. – Juvenile referral in Dora. OCSD took report.

6:04 p.m. – Black Jeep Wrangler is reportedly all over the roadway on Highway 5 north. MSHP rendered assistance.

10:02 p.m. – Caller is fighting with her husband. OCSD rendered assistance.

11:27 p.m. – Disturbance: teenagers are driving through the parking lot fast and messing around at Lick Creek Bullseye. OCSD responded. Gone on arrival.

11:41 p.m. – Owner believes someone has tampered with her truck. OCSD rendered assistance.

 

Sept. 21

12:53 a.m. – Traffic stop near O’Reilly’s. OCSD rendered assistance. 

2:37 a.m. – Security alarm activated at the Historium. Checked OK.

3:13 a.m. – Security alarm activated at the Historium. Checked OK.

4:13 a.m. – Partial top corner knocked off the brick wall at Century Bank. OCSD rendered assistance. 

4:47 a.m. – Security alarm activated at Historium. Checked OK.

6:12 a.m. – Careless and imprudent driver in red Dodge Charger reported on Highway 5 north. OCSD rendered assistance.

 7:01 a.m. – Prisoner transport: Jessica Hathcock from OCSD and Jeremy Delk from Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to Fulton Diagnostic and Reception Center and Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Vandalia.

7:03 a.m. – Driver hit 8-point deer at Highway KK and County Road 357 in 2013 Volkswagen Passat. Driver is taking meat. Call came to Howell County 911, which passed it to MSHP. Driver filled out MDC ticket.

10:49 a.m. – Commercial alarm activated, Century Bank in Theodosia. Branch manager says it’s false alarm.

12:18 p.m. – Well-being / security check requested. Subject called back and said everything is OK.

5:44 and 5:46 p.m. – Two-vehicle accident on Center Point Road. Timber Knob VFD and OCA responded. OCSD rendered assistance.

8:39 p.m. – Medical: 54-year-old female passed out and is now awake and alert but having severe back pain. Pontiac Price Place VFD responded. Patient was transported to BRMC. 

9:35 p.m. – Medical: 45-year-old female’s left side of face is numb. She does have history of Bell’s palsy. OCA responded. Patient transported to OMC.

11.21 p.m. –  Black cows are in the roadway on Smokey Road. Possible owner was notified.

11:41 p.m. _ Traffic stop on Highway 160 past County Road 513. OCSD rendered assistance. 

 

Sept. 22

12:08 a.m. – Medical: 25-year-old has cut on hand, and now hand is going numb. OCA responded. Patient transported.

12:15 a.m. – Caller said a male subject hit an 11-year-old male multiple times and was grabbing him by the shirt. OCSD responded. Subject arrested.

11:58 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. – Vehicle roller accident, Highway 5 north 1 mile north of Douglas County. Driver hit deer; no injuries. MSHP, Gainesville VFD and Cox Ambulance responded.

3:19 p.m. – Medical: 80-year-old female. Tecumseh VFD and OCA responded. Female only needed lift assistance.

9:44 p.m. – Reporting party has a big bear on her porch on Eliott Drive. No answer at Missouri Department of Conservation; sending officer.

10:34 and 11:49 p.m. – Reporting party wants an officer to come get her 16-year-old son who is drunk and is throwing up and falling all over the place on County Road 646; he fell and hit his head and it’s bleeding near the eye. OCSD rendered assistance; officer advised reporting party to take son to hospital.

 

Sept. 23

Domestic / disturbance: reporting party says a subject came into her yard and assaulted her and her boyfriend on County Road 800. OCSD responded. Subject arrested.

7:59 a.m. – Caller says a woman is sleeping on the side of the road at County Road 817 and Highway 160. She has several bags of clothes and other miscellaneous items. Caller called back and said someone is picking up the woman and her belongings.

2:15 p.m. – Runaway juvenile reported. OCSD rendered assistance; Search and Rescue was toned out. Trooper found child at 3:45 p.m.

5:35 p.m. – Reporting called with information he wanted on record. OCSD rendered assistance.

6:57 p.m. – Property damage / vandalism: Subject assaulted caller and broke window out of his truck in Gainesville. Reported taken.

9:45 p.m. – Caller on County Road 817 said a subject beat her up. OCSD rendered assistance.

11:32 p.m. – Well-being / security check: Reporting party said her daughter said that her boyfriend had threatened to kick her in the face and hit her. Now reporting party is getting texts from the boyfriend and no response from her daughter. OCSD responded; checked OK.

 

Sept. 24

12:18 a.m. – Domestic / disturbance reported on Highway 5  south. OCSD responded. Taser deployed at 12:46 a.m. Subject arrested.

7:36 a.m. – Caller reported a lost black bull with yellow ear tag in left ear. Wanted it on record in case someone calls.
