UTV passenger seriously injured after head-on crash

A 61-year-old Kimberling City man was transported by helicopter ambulance to Cox South Springfield Monday morning, April 27, with serious injuries following a crash on County Road 827, 10 miles west of Gainesville, after the UTV he was riding in crashed head-on with a Subaru SUV.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online crash report, the Kimberling City man was riding as a passenger in a 2022 Kawasaki Mule driven by a 20-year-old Ozark man around 11 a.m. Monday morning. The pair were reportedly driving southbound on the county road when they rounded a blind corner and hit a 2008 Subaru Outback head-on. That vehicle was driven by a 54-year-old Gainesville woman.
The report says that both drivers of the vehicles were wearing safety devices; however, the passenger who was injured was not.
Both vehicles were moderately damaged and were removed form the scene by private parties. Both are listed as having insurance.
The crash was investigated by MSHP Tpr. C. A. Edens.
