Dora man seriously hurt in early morning crash

A 45-year-old Dora man was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries in an early morning crash Monday on CC Highway, about five miles west of West Plains.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online crash report, the man was traveling westbound on CC in a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe about 10 minutes after midnight when he swerved to miss an animal in the road, crossed the center line and drove off the right side of the highway, where he hit an electric pole.
The report says the man was wearing a seatbelt. His vehicle was a total loss and was towed by Hughes Towing at the officer’s request.
The crash was investigated by MSHP Tpr. J. D. Healy.
