Man charged with domestic assault, kidnapping for April 2023 incidents

Curtis Gray
Curtis Gray, 29, of Ava, is charged with felony domestic assault and a misdemeanor charge of kidnapping. He was arrested June 21 and released on supervised bond release June 27. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing before Associate Judge Raymond Gross at 1:30 p.m. July 25.
According to the probable cause statement prepared by Ozark County Sheriff Cass Martin, at 5 p.m. April 10, the sheriff took a report of a domestic assault in Ozark County.
A woman reported that she had bruises on the inside of her arms as a result of Gray grabbing her, and that Gray had threatened to hit her, threw her to the ground and drug her by her hair. The woman told the officer that when the pair were in a vehicle and stopped, she tried to get away, but Gray pulled her back into the vehicle and told her “she would be lucky if we don’t kill her,” the report says. Later that night she was successful in getting away when they were stopped at a gas station in Howell County, the report says. She found a person there and asked them for help, which led to the 911 call.
