102 YEARS AGO: CONTRACTORS NOW AT WORK ON NORTH FORK BRIDGE AT TECUMSEH
Aug. 24, 1923, Ozark County Times - The Pioneer Bridge Company of Kansas City, which has the contract for building the new steel bridge across North Fork on the state road at the ferry are now at work. Mr. Latham has installed his saw mill near the bridge site and is sawing out lumber that is being used in building cofferdams and false work for constructing the piers. Sand and gravel are now bring hauled on the ground and concrete work on the piers will begin son. The steel for the bridge is yet at West Plains but a contract for hauling it to the river will be or is already let.
The contractors on the state road have completed the road from the county line to the river and are now at work on the west side of the river.
