Lutie principal Amy Lane

During an Oct. 30 special board meeting, the Lutie Board of Education appointed Amy Lane as interim principal for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. As Lutie principal, Lane is responsible for students in pre-school through 12th grade.

Hired by the Lutie school district at the beginning of the 2019-20 school year as an elementary special education teacher, Lane has 16 years’ experience in education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, a master’s in elementary education and a specialist degree in educational administration. She lives in Mountain Home, Arkansas, with her husband Dan, and their children Brian, Cassie and Danny.

Lane steps into the position formerly held by Sherry Anstine, who had been the Lutie School principal since 2017. She resigned earlier this month, and the Lutie board accepted her resignation during its Oct. 17 meeting. Lutie superintendent Scot Young said he is unable to discuss personnel matters and could not comment on Anstine’s resignation.
