Tracy Albert Strong, 55

 

Funeral services for Tracy Albert Strong, 55, of Thornfield, were held July 8, 2026, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville with Bud Vickery officiating. Burial was in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Wasola.

He died July 6 at his home. Tracy was born June 17, 1971, in West Plains, to Kella and Ila (Anderson) Strong.

Tracy was a lifelong resident of Ozark County and graduated from Gainesville High School with the class of 1990. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He was a craftsman of making fishing lures and reloading. Anything that was done outdoors, he loved.

Tracy's best dog was his sidekick, Boss. Wherever Tracy went, Boss was right beside him. 

Tracy was a member of Barren Fork Church of Christ. He believed God was best found in the woods.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonna Strong; his mother, Ila Pliler and her husband Sam; brother, Lacie Strong; along with many special family members and close friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Kella Strong; and his father-in-law, Artie Cavitt.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home, 3132 N. Fair Haven Loop, Strafford, MO 65757. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
