Theresa ‘Tess’ Friend, 69

Funeral services for Theresa “Tess” Friend, 69, of Walnut Grove, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Walnut Grove. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

She died Feb. 14. She was born Sept. 6, 1956, in Springfield, to Allen and Shirley (Crussell) Christian.

Tess had a deep love for life on the family ranch. She took great pride in tending her garden, caring for the horses, and spending time with her loyal blue heeler dogs. A true country spirit, Tess enjoyed rodeos and the sound of country music, especially Hank William Jr. Her artistic talent shone through in her beautiful paintings, drawings and photography. Above all, Tess treasured time with her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

Tess is survived by children: Brandon Simpson and wife Becca, and Dakota Friend; grandchildren: Bella, Bailee, Brantley, Brody and Lilly Jo; sister, Becky Holman and husband Rex; family friend, Elijah Erwin; nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Tess is preceded in death by her parents: Allen Christian and Shirley “Jack” Christian; and husband, Benny Friend.
