Steven Eugene Friend, 67

Memorial services for Steven Eugene Friend, 67, of Rogersville, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at The Bridge of the Living Word Church in Theodosia, with Bro. David Homer Jr. officiating. 

He died June 1,  at his residence surrounded by family and friends. He was born Feb. 6, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Elija and Myrene (Harring) Friend.

Steven was a 1976 graduate of Gainesville High School. On July 20, 1990, he was united in marriage to Rhonda Swearengin at their home in Rogersville. Steven worked for 30 years at Kraft Foods in Springfield. He loved to fish in his spare time, but most of all he just loved being with his family. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Friend, of the home in Rogersville; his siblings: Mike Friend and wife Kathy of Isabella, Debbie Mahan of Rogersville, Ronda Plumb and husband Jim of Springfield, and Eric Friend and wife Missy of Isabella. He was adored by his nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Daniel, Telea, Heath, Tatum, Josh, Braidon, Ashlyne, Lulu and Hayden. He is also survived by his best friend, his dog “Khloe.”

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
