Steven Bradley Cahoon, 61

 

Steven Bradley Cahoon, 61, of Wasola, died Feb. 20, 2024, in Rockbridge. He was born Oct. 23, 1962, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Gus Ray and Rosemarie (DeBusk) Cahoon.  

Steve was raised in Illinois and moved to the Ozarks in 2019.  In Illinois he worked at Peerless Premier in Belleville, Illinois, for 30 years.

On Feb. 15, 1980, Steve and Nancy Downey were married in Belleville, Illinois, and together were blessed with three children.  

Steve was working at the Rainbow Trout Hatchery at Rockbridge. He was raised in the Pentecost faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working on cars. His favorite thing was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy; three children: Sherry and Tom Laramore, Rosemarie Cahoon and Fritz Hoffarth, and Steven Ray Cahoon; his mother, Rosemarie Cahoon; two grandchildren: Thomas and Samantha Laramore and Allison Hoffarth; one great-grandson Kaison Laramore; siblings: Allen and Debbie Cahoon, Doris and Donnie Quillman, Linda and Roland Young, Sharon and Eugene Kinkade, and David and Carol Cahoon; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Gus Ray Cahoon, and his brother, Donnie Cahoon.
