Steve Frye, 85

Steve Frye, 85, of Gainesville, died peacefully on Aug. 6, 2022, at the Gainesville Health Care Center. At his request, no services will be held.

Mr. Frye was born Nov. 12, 1936, in San Diego, California, to Sam and Edna Frye, the oldest of three sons. He worked for many years as a truck driver and also in construction. He moved back to Gainesville after several years in Montana.

He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Edna Frye; two brothers John Frye and Sam Frye Jr.; and one son-in-law Leon Eslinger. 

He is survived by his children: son Cameron Frye and Mitzi, son Clint “Bull” Frye and Jessica, daughter Debbie Eslinger, all of Gainesville, and son Craig “Woody” Frye and Tammy of Thornton, Colorado; his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and in-laws.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville.
