Robert Lee Wilcox, 39

A celebration of life for Robert Lee Wilcox, 39, formerly of Gainesville, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Price Place Church and Cemetery, with food to follow at the Pontiac Fire Department.
Robert died on March 29, 2025. He was born on Feb. 26, 1986, in St. Louis, the middle child of five children born to Bill and Brenda Wilcox. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 2004. Robert loved all things cars, specifically drag racing and rebuilding his S-10 (which he nicknamed “Penny”). That passion made his work as a mechanic feel more like a hobby than a career. He enjoyed going to the gym and could often be found encouraging others in the gym. Robert loved to make people smile and laugh. He had a deep rolling laugh that could brighten any moment and he loved to share his laugh with others. Most who knew him will remember him as a big-ol' teddy bear. Family was very important to Robert, and he was there for any family member who needed him. He adored his three children and enjoyed making them smile and laugh. He was a constant light in the lives of all his nieces and nephews, providing them with love, encouragement and lots of laughs. Robert spent the last years of his life in Oregon, where he met his partner Erica. Together, they created a large blended family that enjoyed making memories that Erica and their children will be able to cherish throughout their lives.
Robert is survived by his three children: Alyssa, Addie Mae and Mason; his partner, Erica Lindsey; three bonus children: Brayden, Braxton and Harper; his mother Brenda; four siblings: Bill (Dawn), Michelle (Don), Stephanie (Christian) and Samuel (Lacy Anne); nieces and nephews: Gavin, Jozelyn, Karizma, Karma, Christian, Titen, Devin, Patience, Trent, Aaron and Haley; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
Robert was preceded in death by his father Bill Wilcox and grandparents William and Betty Keith.
