Nellie Turner, 87

Funeral services for Nellie Lucille Turner, 87, of Squires, were held Jan. 26, 2021, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with the Rev. Randall Turner and the Rev. Joshua Turner officiating. Mrs. Turner died Jan. 20 at Ozark Nursing and Care Center in Ozark.

She was born March 20, 1933, in Roy, the daughter of Isaac Joshua and Rosa Belle Moore Wilson. On Sept. 17, 1950, at Union Grove Church in Crossroads, she married Albert Noland Turner. 

Mrs. Turner was a homemaker, and she also helped her husband on the farm. She was a Christian and a member of the IGO General Baptist Church. She enjoyed making donuts for her family on every holiday, and she sewed clothing for her children when they were young. She also loved gardening and canning.   

She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Roberta Grider and husband Don, Roldan Turner and wife Debbie, and Roy Turner and wife Rene, all of Ozark, Reba Holt and husband John of Copper Canyon, Texas, Rhonda Turner of Rogersville, and Randall Turner and wife Pat of Kansas City; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Noland, who died in 2004; and her 11 brothers and sisters.  

Burial was in the Thornfield Cemetery in Thornfield. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Thornfield Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at clinkingbeardfuneralhome.com.
