Michalen “Mikie” Marler, 63
Funeral services for Michalen “Mikie” Marler, 63, of Theodosia, were held Jan. 17, 2024, at Snapp-Bearden Forsyth Chapel in Forsyth.
She died Jan. 8. Mikie was born April 20, 1960, to Thomas and Jonnie Jo (Bradshaw) Skinner in Rangely, Colorado.
Her family moved to southwest Missouri when she was 4 years old. She grew up in Ozark County and attended Lutie School. That is where she met Roger Marler. They were married in a small church in Protem in 1975 and raised three loving children, Michael Allen, William “Andy” Andrew and Jessica Jo.
Outside the home, Mikie earned a degree in business with an emphasis in law. She then worked in private law, serving as a paralegal to local attorneys.
Mikie loved and cherished her time with the grandkids, collecting antiques, horseback riding, fishing and squirrel hunting. She proudly displayed her collection of antiques in her home.
Mikie is survived by devoted husband Roger; daughter Jessica Jo (Marler) Williams and husband Shawn of Taneyville; brothers, Tommy Joe Skinner and wife Sherry of Protem and Harold Skinner and wife Kimberly of Lancaster, Ohio; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces; and many other family members and friends that loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sons Michael Allen and William Andrew “Andy” Marler.
