Funeral services for Martie Dee Dunn, 68, of Taneyville, were held Aug. 1, 2026, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes in Ava. Burial was at the Thornfield Cemetery. Pastor Rob Dalton officiated.

He died at his home on July 28, with his loving wife and family by his side. Martie was born Sept. 3, 1957, in Portland, Oregon, to Elmer Richard and Virginia Rose (Blankenship) Dunn. Martie and Stephanie Tucker married on Oct. 11, 2002, in Harrison, Arkansas. To this union, two children were born, Eli Roy and Elly Rose.

Martie worked for Branson Parks and Recreation for 36 years before retiring as a supervisor at the Branson Rec Plex. Martie, along with his brother, Max, and dear friend Foster Dauzat, had a lifelong love of running beagles. They won numerous field trials, and Martie served as a field trial judge for many years. He was a founding member of the Beaver Lake Beagle Club. Martie also loved farming and cattle. Martie and his brother-in-law, Travis, spent many hours on farming adventures.

Martie always said his greatest accomplishment was his children and their careers, clubs and sports. He loved supporting them in all their activities, including watching Elly and her basketball team play for a State Championship. He was always there and present for his children and grandchildren and was so very proud of each of them.

Martie was one of the kindest, friendliest people you would ever meet. He didn’t know a stranger and always put others first. Martie lived by the motto of treating others as you wished to be treated. Everyone loved to be in his company, and he will be missed by many.
