Marion Dale Julius, 87

 

Marion Dale Julius, 87, of Gainesville, died Feb. 10, 2026, at Baxter Health Hospital in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Brownstown, Illinois, to George Dale and Margaret Elizabeth (Ray) Julius.

He graduated from Waynesville High School in 1958. On Jan. 25, 1963, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Adams. They spent a wonderful 63 years together. He worked for many years as a cable splicer for the phone company. After his retirement, he and Carolyn moved to Gainesville in the late 1990s. He loved the Ozarks, especially being outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a very skilled woodworker and took pride in his craft.  He also served in the past as fire chief for the Caney Mountain Volunteer Fire Department. He was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Julius, of the home in Gainesville; son Michael Julius of West Plains; daughter Pamela Williams of Kincaid, Illinois; four grandchildren: Charles Julius, Jacob Julius, Natalie Williams and Amber Bone; and eight great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret Julius; one brother; and one sister.

No local services are planned at this time. Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
