Lena Eunie Brown, 97, of Ava died Nov. 12, 2021. No local services are planned at this time.
She was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Longrun, the daughter of John Thomas “Tom” and Defsia Lee Absher Clayton.
She attended school in Longrun and later married Roy Brown. She worked at Rockbridge Rainbow Trout Ranch and at Rawlings in Ava, among other places.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon “Madeline” Brown; two sisters, Brooksie Neva Graves of Columbia (who is 102 years old), and Lois Faye Mudd of Richland, Washington; one brother, Rayford Renso Clayton of Longrun; one granddaughter, Reth Ann Rowland; four great-grandsons, Tyson H. Williams, Tristan J. Brown, Kenny Wayne and Waylon Wayne Goodman; and other relatives, including a niece, Theta Nokes, who writes the Wasola items for the Times.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Brown; her son, Marvin Lavern Brown; a grandson, Jessie Michael Brown; brothers Clifford Ralph “Red” Clayton (who died in 1990), Tilford Jessie “Buck” Clayton (2002), Trellis Hascue Clayton (1999), Troy Lee Clayton (2020); sisters Roxie Marie Roberts (2011) and Letha Elizabeth Brown (1998).
