Laura Mae Renne, 61

Funeral services and a celebration of life for Laura Mae Renne, 61, of Theodosia, were held July 26, 2025, at Salem General Baptist Church in Ocie. 

Laura died July 22 at her home in Theodosia. She was born on July 19, 1964, the oldest child of Auttie and Glenda Perry. 

Laura married Mike Renne on April 6, 2019. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all she knew and cared for. She was a voracious reader, lover of freshly brewed coffee and time well spent with the people she cherished and loved.

Laura is survived by her youngest brother, Allen Perry and wife Robin Perry of Monroe, Michigan; children: Steven Schmekel and wife Amie Schmekel of Gainesville, Emily Schmekel of Roseville, Michigan, and stepson Beau Renne of Independence; grandchildren: Alexis Renne, Dalton Renne, Zoe Schmekel and Steven Schmekel; five additional stepchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Auttie and Glenda Perry, and her younger brother, Thomas Perry.

Cremation services are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
