Kenneth Ray Coy, 71

A graveside memorial service for Kenneth Ray Coy, 71, of Gainesville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, in the Brushy Knob Cemetery north of Gainesville. Dinner will be served at the Brushy Knob Church following the service. Mr. Coy died Feb. 5 at Viburnum.

He was born July 10, 1950, in Gainesville, the son of Averille G. and Elsie F. Beasley Coy.

Mr. Coy was a 1968 graduate of Gainesville High School. He then served in the Army from 1972 until 1976. He went on to become an excellent carpenter and trim carpenter, and he farmed for several years.

He is survived by his son, Kelly Coy of North Carolina, and his daughter, Dawn Michelle of Springfield; his sisters, Helen Coy Neve and Linda Coy Hawkins, both of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Shirley Coy Hannaford.
