Joyce Ann Silvey, 69

Funeral services for Joyce Souder Silvey, 69,  of Nottinghill, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 2, 2020, at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava with Leon Turner officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Due to concerns related to the spread of covid-19, those attending are asked to please wear a mask. Mrs. Silvey died Nov. 26 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Dec. 6, 1950, in Gainesville, the daughter of Boyd and Avis Sievert Souder. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1969. In 1978, she married Dale Silvey. 

She began her working life as a beautician and then worked at Emerson for 20 years. Later she and her husband dairy farmed at Longrun.  

Mrs. Silvey enjoyed watching PBR, family gatherings, attending Barren Fork Church of Christ and spending time with Buddy, her cat. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter Jessica Frye and husband Clint of Noble; her brother, Ralph Brown of Gainesville; and grandchildren NovaLee Newkirk and Cole Cannon.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dale.
