John Royse, 84

John Royse, 84, died Jan. 13, 2026, at his home in Dora. The family will celebrate the life of John at a later date.

He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on Jan. 6, 1942, to Nicholas Longworth and Alice Virginia (Crabtree) Royse.

John married Carolyn (Brownlee) Royse on July 3, 1963. He was a brick mason for 51 years. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all. He loved the Ozarks, and he loved kayaking and fly fishing.

John is survived by his wife Carolyn; two daughters: Stacey Royse of Dora and Tammy Puhr of Peculiar; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
