Jimmy McConnaughy, 85

Funeral services for Jimmy McConnaughy, 85, will be held Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville. Visitation will start at 1 p.m., and a Masonic service will be held at 2 p.m., followed by a funeral service. Burial will be in the Loftis Cemetery.
He died Saturday, Dec. 7, at his residence. Jim was born Jan. 3, 1939, in Tyrone, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Berah (Driver) McConnaughy.
Jim had 50-plus years with Robert Burns Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star of Gainesville and was a member of Abou Ben Adhem Shrine of Springfield. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up and start the next generation.
Jim married the love of his life Theresa Sparr on June 16, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Jim is survived by his wife, Theresa McConnaughy, of the home; three children: Jim Ray McConnaughy of Gainesville, Kay Bannister and husband Charles of Springfield and Lynn Lininger of Ava; four grandchildren: Travis McConnaughy (Aubrey) of Romance, Tara Wallace (Justin) of North Carolina, Jason Lininger (Tara) of Ava, and Jarett Lininger (Ali) of Springfield; five great-grandchildren; brother Duane Hunsucker (Sue) of West Plains; sister Lucille Williams of Houston; and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Floyd McConnaughy; his mother, Berah McConnaughy Hunsucker; four brothers: Roy McConnaughy, Billy McConnaughy, Henry Hunsucker and George Hunsucker; and one sister Donna Miller.
