Jerry Lee Simpson, 71

 

A funeral service for Jerry Lee Simpson, 71, of Price Place, Arkansas, was held Aug. 11, 2023, at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Bruce DeWeese officiating.

He died Aug. 8, with his family by his side at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas. 

Jerry was born June 22, 1952, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Robert and Francis (Booth) Simpson. 

He graduated high school in Kansas City, Kansas, where he met his high school sweetheart Roxie Dianne (Bidding) Simpson. The two were united in marriage on May 20, 1972, in Kansas City, Kansas. Jerry and Roxie moved to Price Place and began their life in the country. They had two boys, Robert and Joshua. Jerry worked in the plastics department as a level four operator at the Baxter Healthcare lab in Mountain Home, Arkansas, for 40 years.

After retiring, Jerry enjoyed the simple life: spending time with his family, tinkering in his shop, working in the garden or messing with his chickens. He was a proud Christian man and loving husband. He adored his grandchildren who lovingly refer to him as “Poppy.” 

Jerry touched the lives of many people in the Price Place community. He will be forever missed. 

Jerry is survived by his wife Roxie Simpson; two sons Robert Simpson and wife Nancy and Joshua Simpson and fiancé Audrey; and many grandchildren: Marshall and Mallory, Tanner, Shelby, Emily, Marlee, Noah and Ryan; four siblings: Sharon Collins, John Simpson, Kenny Simpson, and Anita Herman.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Francis Simpson and three brothers: James Simpson, Gary Simpson and Dale Simpson.
