Honie Louise Nokes, 50

A memorial service for Honie Louise Nokes, 50, of Ava, was held Sept. 28, 2024, at Ava Family Funeral Home. She died Sept. 24, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. She was born on Feb. 26, 1974, to Gary and Theta (Clayton) Nokes, in Springfield.

Honie was a creative person. She spent many hours making quilt tops. She also loved to design and make dream catchers that she would share with others. She spent many hours drawing beautiful pictures.  Everyone who knew Honie could see how friendly she was. She had never met a stranger, that was even evident with her cats. She loved her cats, especially Trucker.

She is survived by her mother Theta Nokes; her brother T.J. Lee Nokes; grandmother Maxine Turner; aunts: Christine Clayton, Ella Faye Mitchell and Vicky Nokes; uncle Orville Clayton; special friend Steven Basham; and many friends and family members.

Honie was preceded in death by her father, Gary Nokes; grandfather John Nokes; step-grandfather Weldon Turner; grandparents Tilford and Lilliam Clayton; uncle Wilford Clayton; and aunt Sherry Workman​.
