Glen Dale Boland, 87

A memorial service for Glen Dale Boland, 87, of Thornfield, was held Feb. 1, 2025, in the Oak Grove Church in Wasola. Officiating was David Tolliver.
He died peacefully on Jan. 28, 2025, at his residence with his daughters and son-in-law by his side. He was born Sept. 9, 1937, in Minnith, Missouri, to Gussie and Eula (Counts) Boland. Glen married Zelda Lee Abell on Sept. 11, 1955.
Glen owned a cash register business in Florida before moving to the Ozarks to retire. He then went to work for Ozark County's Road and Bridge Department, where he worked for 10 more years before retiring again. He also worked on Caney Mountain construction until completion, then retired….finally!
Glen loved fishing, driving his tractor and airplanes, his family and his dog, Lily. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two daughters: Tammy Massel of Thornfield and Mary and Robert Olson of Two Rivers, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Glenn and Ashley Olson, Cody and Brittney Goodwin, Amy Olson, Jason and Kendra Massel; great-grandchildren: Hailey Olson, Finley Olson, Abel, Tyler, Ethan and Brody Goodwin, Logan, McKenzie and Paige Massel; nephew Carl Boland; and niece Lori Roth.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gussie and Eula Boland; his wife Zelda Boland; great-granddaughter Avery Elizabeth Goodwin; and his dog, Lily.
