Gerry Beckerman, 71

A celebration of life for Gerald "Gerry" Beckerman, 71, will be held at 1 p.m. Nov. 16, 2024, at Lazy Acres Fire Department in Protem.
He died unexpectedly on Oct. 4. Gerry was born on Aug. 7, 1953.
Gerry had an incredible life as a career-long tattoo artist and business owner. He retired in 2021, moving to his beloved Bull Shoals Lake. In 2010 he met his love, Julie, and they married on Aug. 6, 2016, giving them 14 blissful years together.
Gerry was a wonderful, kind man who was completely devoted to his family and friends.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, horses and boating. He also had a fondness for building his chopper, classic cars, leather work and horseshoe art. He had a love for all animals, big and small, having 11 dogs at one time which he referred to as his "Yorkie army." He was a mentor to many in the tattoo world and beyond. He founded the Wright County Children's Home Motorcycle Toy Run and helped organize it for many years. He freely gave to his community if ever there was a need. The list of his generosity was long. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Gerry is survived by his wife, Julie Beckerman; his children: Jennifer Christy, Douglas Irwin, Amber White, David Nesbit, Lauren Price, Ashley Fraelich, Jackie Rabbit, Katy MacMillan and Chelsea MacMillan; his brother, Steve Platz; and sisters, Lisa Dolan and Ilene Cranin.
