Diane Lea Slavings, 70

Diane Lea Slavings, 70, of Howard’s Ridge, passed away Oct. 6, 2025, at her home.

Diane was born on Jan. 4, 1955, in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Carol and Joseph Crawford,

She married Sherrion “Slim” Slavings on May 28, 1994. They lived in Kentucky before moving to Missouri. Diane worked for many years serving the children at South Fork Elementary School as their beloved “Miss D.” She took great pride in providing them with wonderful meals while also spoiling the teachers and staff.

She is survived by her daughters: Shaun Simpson (Greg) of Howard’s Ridge, Deborah Roland of Oak Ridge, Tennesse, Shannon Lankford (Shawn) of Frankfort, Kentucky, Christy Gayle (Walter) of Owenton, Kentucky, Stephanie Murray (Jason) of West Plains, Melissa Hartig (Joe) of Cold Spring, Kentucky, and Mary Wilhoite (Ryan) of Owenton, Kentucky; her sons: Jerry Lankford of Monterey, Kentucky, and Matthew Greenlee (Meagan) of Owenton, Kentucky; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; her sister, Rae Ann (Mo) Turner of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters-in-law: Linda Evans, Margerite Slavings and Elaine Slavings; brothers-in-law: Carl Slavings (Debbie), Steve Slavings and Robert Slavings (Gina); her very special honorary grandson, Jarett Hogan; and countless nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrion “Slim” Slavings; her parents, Joseph and Carol Crawford; her sister, Marcie Releford; brothers-in-law: James “Whistle” Slavings, Alvin Slavings and Clifton Evans; and sister-in-law Karen Slavings.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Genesis Whole Body Donation Foundation.
