Christopher Dale Curtis, 44
Graveside services for Christopher Dale Curtis, 44, of Ava, were held March 30, 2024, in the Souder Cemetery with Tim Williams officiating.
He died March 26 at his home.
On May 9, 1979, Chris was born in Springfield, to Gilbert Curtis and Judy (Cook) Hladun.
Christopher was a true country boy whose love for the outdoors was evident in every aspect of his life. He found solace in the serenity of nature, whether he was casting a line in the creeks, lakes and rivers or pursuing game in the woods. Chris had a knack for storytelling, often under the shade of a maple tree, where his warmth and humor brought joy to those around him. His passion for NASCAR and the thrill of speed reflected in his adventurous spirit, yet he always found time to share his culinary skills, delighting friends and family with his fish fries and Thanksgiving feasts. Chris’s generosity knew no bounds; he was ever-ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. With his gentle demeanor and infectious smile, he touched the hearts of all who knew him. Though he may be gone, his memory will forever shine bright in the hearts of every single soul he met, because with Chris you were never a stranger, always a friend.
Chris is survived by his parents, Gilbert and Sherry Curtis and Judy and Ron Hladun; sister, Janetta and Nelson Abshire.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alvin and Edith Curtis and Dewey and Audra Cook.
