Charley Deroose Cheek, 69

Funeral services for Charley Deroose Cheek, 69, of Theodosia, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the True Hope Church in Theodosia with Tom Cantrell officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time in the church. 

He died May 11, at his residence. He was born September 26, 1952, at Mountain Home, Arkansas, to O.J. and Marie (Rogers) Cheek.

Charley graduated from Flippin High School, then vo-tech school in Harrison, Arkansas. 

He worked at MarBax Shirt Factory until its closure. While there he met the love of his life, Patsy McGinnis. They were married April 20, 1973, and just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. He also worked for the Ava and Mountain Home Livestock sale barns. 

He is survived by his wife Patsy Cheek of the home; two sisters: Paulette Dillinger and husband Doyle, Mary Ann Angus and husband Bill; three brothers: Bobby Cheek and wife Ruby, Tommie Cheek and wife Jackie, Johnny Cheek and wife Darla; 19 nieces and nephews; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Doyle; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
