Annave Loftis, 85
Funeral services for Annave Loftis, 85, of Thornfield, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home chapel in Gainesville with Milan Chisam officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time. Burial will be in the Loftis Cemetery.
Annave died Jan. 23, at Gainesville Healthcare Center. She was born Oct. 5, 1937 in Smackout to H. O. and Lena (Johnson) Nance.
She married Loyd Leland Loftis, and the couple briefly moved to Lawrence, Kansas for Leland to find work. In 1957, after a couple years there, they moved back to Ozark County to raise their family. While Leland worked various jobs to support the family, Annave took care of things around the home and dairy farm, which they operated for many years.
She also loved to hunt and fish.
Annave was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always straight-spoken and to-the-point. She was loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Annave is survived by one daughter, Debra Hogue and one son, Les Loftis and wife Darla, all of Thornfield; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Jack Nance and one sister, Barbara Loftis, both of Noble.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leland Loftis; one infant son, Arthur Wayne Loftis; three brothers; and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to Loftis Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville.
