Motorcyclist airlifted after vehicle crash near Dora

A 47-year-old Caulfield man was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield by Air Evac helicopter ambulance last Saturday, July 18, after he was seriously injured from being hit by a car while riding his motorcycle.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online crash report,  the man was traveling southbound on H Highway, about four miles south of Dora, at 4:20 p.m. when a 17-year-old male Dora driver in a 1995 Ford Taurus pulled into the motorcycle’s path in an attempt to make a left hand turn. 

The crash report says the man on the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet. The teen was wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was transported by private vehicle to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. 

The bike was a total loss, and the car sustained moderate damage. Both were removed from the scene by private parties. The crash was investigated by MSHP Tpr. W. R. Wylie.
