Phyllis Diane Bruffett, 66

Phyllis Diane Bruffett, 66, formerly of Thornfield, died Dec. 24, 2023, at Ava Place. Cremation services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava. Memorial services will be determined at a later date. 

Phyllis was born Sept. 6, 1957, in Moline, Illinois, to Bearl Harvey Sr. and Judy Lee (Proksch) Bruffett.

She had lived in the Quad Cities, Kansas and Iowa before moving to Thornfield upon her retirement from Xerox after a 27 year career. She then relocated to Ava, where she was living at the time of her death.

Phyllis was a Christian, and before her move to Ava, she attended services at the Mt. Lebanon General Baptist Church in Thornfield.   

Phyllis enjoyed sewing and was a very creative crafter. She also had a passion for cooking and sharing her talents with family and friends. She loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her well-loved cats and dogs.

She was a beloved sister, aunt, and dear friend to many.

Phyllis is survived by her sister Penny Obermann and husband Jim; her brother Bearl Bruffett Jr. and wife Denise; her niece Kaylee Wesa; and many other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
